Between August 16 and 20, the XVI International Symposium on Ecohydraulics took place in Lausanne, Switzerland. IG PAS representatives attened the event.

On 29 July, at the Institute we welcomed a delegation from the Universidad Nacional “San Luis Gonzaga” de Ica (UNICA), Peru. The meeting brought together representatives of both institutions.

On July 3, 2026, the Local Lightning Detection Network (LLDN) measurement station was launched at the Central Geophysical Observatory of the Institute of Geophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Belsk.

Between June 28 and July 4, the 13th International Conference on Fluvial Hydraulics (River Flow) took place in Thessaloniki, Greece. Since its inception in 2002, under the Fluvial Hydraulics Committee of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR), the River Flow Conference Series has proudly stood as a premier global platform for the exchange of pioneering research and best practices in fluvial hydraulics and river engineering.

Dr hab. inż.  Andrzej Górszczyk from the Department of Seismic Research of  IG PAS was invited by the School of Earth and Space Sciences at Peking University for a one-week scientific visit.

The Editorial Office of the Publications of the Institute of Geophysics, Polish Academy of Sciences, is pleased to announce the publication of a new volume in the Polar Research series (Vol. 456, P-6), authored by Prof. Tomasz Janik, entitled Six of My Polar Expeditions with the Institute of Geophysics PAS in 1975-1991.

In 7–12 June, the EAGE Annual Conference & Exhibition 2026 took place in Aberdeen – one of the most important international events for geoscientists and engineers dedicated to Earth sciences and the energy sector.
