After four intensive weeks of fieldwork, the summer campaign of the UNDER project (Exploring groUNDwater–surface watER interactions in High Arctic catchments) has been successfully completed in Ny-Ålesund and Hornsund.

We are pleased to announce that a research project led by Assoc. Prof. Michael Nones from the Institute of Geophysics PAS has received funding under the OPUS 28 + LAP (Lead Agency Procedure) competition of the National Science Centre. The project is being carried out in collaboration with partners from Poland and Austria.

Between June 21 and 27 Paweł Rowinski, Monika Kalinowska, Michael Nones and Yiwei Guo attended the 41st IAHR World Congress in Singapore.

On 18 June 2025, Clarivate Analytics announced the latest issue of the Journal Citation Reports with updated Impact Factor values.

On June 17, the conference “Science Diplomacy in Poland and its Role in the European Union” took place at the Staszic Palace in Warsaw. The event was organized by the Polish Academy of Sciences and the European Commission.

On 12 June 2025, the Institute of Geophysics, Polish Academy of Sciences, in Warsaw hosted the public defense of the doctoral thesis by Monika Staszek, MSc, entitled Joint multiplet and static stress drop analysis for enhanced characterization of reservoirs undergoing fluid injection.

On June 11, 2025, the public defense of the doctoral dissertation by MSc Arianna Varrani entitled Onset of motion of compact-shaped microplastics in open-channel flows was held at the Institute of Geophysics, Polish Academy of Sciences, in Warsaw.
