We cordially invite you to prepare manuscripts for the special issue “Mathematical Modeling in Geophysics: Concepts and Practices”. Prof. Mariusz Białecki, Head of the Department of Geophysical Imaging at IG PAS, will be the guest editor of this issue. The journal “Mathematics” is currently on the 21st position on the list of 333 journals scored in the JCR Category Mathematics (Q1, impact factor 2.592).

During the UN 2023 Water Conference the International Science Council (ISC) presented a new document concerning water policy. Prof. Paweł Rowiński, Head of Hydrology and Hydraulics Department at IG PAS, was a co-author of this document.

This autumn, SIOS offers a training course on how to effectively use UAVs in Svalbard research. The training will be delivered by UAV experts from SIOS member institutions, international researchers, and experts from the industry.

The fifth edition of SIOS Polar Night Week (PNW) was held in Longyearbyen, Spitsbergen (Svalbard) from January 23-27.

On 23th of January was the 64th anniversary of the donation of the Oazis Station at Bunger Oasis in East Antarctica to Poland. The facility was subsequently renamed the A.B. Dobrowolski Polish Antarctic Station.
