28.02.2024 Post Bilateral Initiative Aiming at Harmonisation of the Svalbard cooperation (HarSval) The Svalbard archipelago presents a unique and crucial platform for research on climate change and its environmental repercussions. Poland and Norway have a long history of collaboration in Svalbard research, primarily focused on cryospheric studies. However, with the growing urgency of understanding the broader impacts of climate change on the Arctic region, there’s a need to expand the scope and strengthen the existing cooperation.
25.02.2024 Post New Editor-in-Chief of "Acta Geophysica" The Editorial Board of “Acta Geophysica” kindly informs that as of 01.03.2024 there will be a change in the role of the editor-in-chief of “Acta Geophysica”, the flagship journal of our Institute. This role will be assumed by Prof. Michal Malinowski from the Department of Geophysical Imaging of IG PAS, who is simultaneously employed by the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK).
28.12.2023 Post Prof. Aleksander Guterch passed away It is with deep regret that we inform you that on December 28, 2023, at the age of 87, Prof. Ph.D. Aleksander Guterch, an outstanding geophysicist, a long-time employee of the Institute of Geophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences passed away.
