On 11 September at the Staszic Palace in Warsaw was held the lecture by Prof. Patrick De Deckker from Australian National University. The meeting was organized by the Institute of Geophysics PAS, Archive PAS and GeoPlanet Center.

River Flow 2024 – the 12th International Conference on Fluvial Hydraulics took place in Liverpool on 2nd-6th September. 5 Participants from the Hydrology and Hydrodynamics Department: Michael Nones, Arianna Varrani, Hossein Hamidifar, Yiwei Guo, Łukasz Przyborowski actively participated in this conference.

The International Geological Workshop SvalGeoBase II will be held on board the Maritime University research vessel Horyzont II from 3rd to 9th September. The event was organised by the Institute of Geophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in cooperation with Uppsala University. It is coordinated by Krzysztof Michalski and Piotr Głowacki from IG PAS and Jarosław Majka from Uppsala University.

Last week in the ‘Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society’ was published ‘State of the Climate 2023’ report. This is an annual study on the state of the Earth’s climate, published since 2011.
