The lecture entitled ‘The 1897-99 Belgica expedition that first overwintered in Antarctic waters. A tale of extraordinary scientific achievements and of human endurance’ is devoted to scientific activity and achievements of Henryk Arctowski and Antoni Bolesław Dobrowolski – first Polish polar explorers, who participated in Belgian Antarctic Expedition (1897–1899).
