We are pleased to inform, that Fourth International Conference on Arctic Research Planning (ICARP IV) Final Outcomes Report was published during the Arctic Science Summit Week on March 2026 in Aarhus, Denmark. This report defines research priorities in the Arctic for the coming decade and serves as a foundation for preparations for the Fifth International Polar Year (IPY-5), planned for 2032–2033.

We would like to highlight the significant contribiution of scientists from the IG PAS to the ICARP IV process:
- Prof. Piotr Głowacki as the Chair of the Committee on Polar Research PAS coordinated the participation of the Polish scientific community in the work on the report and the process of prioritizing research tasks.
- Prof. Monika A. Kusiak as an official RPT 4 international team member is a co-author of Arctic Research Cooperation and Diplomacy report, which defines strategies for international cooperation and science diplomacy in the face of geopolitical changes.
- Dr Bartłomiej Luks is a co-author of two reports: Svalbard Integrated Arctic Earth Observing System (SIOS) engagement to ICARP IV process and Arctic winter heatwaves: an ever-increasing phenomenon challenging the arctic environment and local communities as part of ICARP IV Endorsed Activities (2024).
