The EGU General Assembly conference took place on 3-8 May, 2026 in Vienna. Every year, the conference gathers approximately 20-21 thousand scientists from over 120 countries. This year’s edition was attended by, among others: employees of the Department of Seismic Reaserch, belonging to the Seismic Data Imaging and Inversion Team: Toktam Zand, Xiaole Zhou, Andrzej Górszczyk and Yousef Amirzadeh.
Scientists presented 6 abstracts regarding research results of projects implemented with the National Science Center and NCBiR:
- Toktam Zand: Reverse Time Migration Using Modified Nearly Analytical Discretization for Large-Scale High-Resolution Imaging
- Toktam Zand: An Efficient Dual-Space Formulation for Robust Crustal-Scale Full-Waveform Inversion
- Yousef Amirzadeh: Reflectivity Imaging and Impedance Inversion of Seismic Data from the Outer-Rise Area of the Japan Trench
- Xiaole Zhou: Topography-dependent first-arrival traveltime and slope tomography with redatuming for improved velocity imaging: applied to ocean-bottom seismometer data
- Andrzej Górszczyk: Japan Trench Petit-Spot Province Revealed by Seismic Imaging and Magnetic Anomalies
- Andrzej Górszczyk: High-resolution seismic imaging of the Koillismaa Layered Igneous Complex, Northern Finland
