We are pleased to announce that Prof. Paweł Rowiński, Director of the Institute of Geophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, has been elected a member of Academia Europaea in the Earth and Cosmic Sciences section.
The Board of Trustees of Academia Europaea announced the nominations of new members on March 26, 2026. A total of 275 outstanding scientists from around the world were invited to join the organization, representing four fields: humanities and the arts, social and related sciences, exact sciences, and natural sciences.
In addition to Prof. Rowiński, the Earth and Cosmic Sciences section includes two other representatives from Poland: Prof. Zbigniew Kundzewicz and Prof. Józef Smak.
The Academia Europaea was established in 1988. It is the pan-European academy of science, humanities and letters, with a membership of over 5500 eminent scholars, drawn from all countries of Europe, and all disciplines, nationalities and geographical locations.
