On 14 October 2025, the inauguration of the 2025/2026 academic year at the GeoPlanet Doctoral School took place.

The ceremony was held at the Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences (CBK PAN) in Warsaw. The inaugural lecture, titled “Whence the cat? Progress in paleontology of Central European wildcat and domestic cat was delivered by dr hab. Maciej T. Krajcarz (Institute of Geological Sciences, Polish Academy of Sciences).
