We are pleased to announce that Prof. Mariusz Białecki from the Institute of Geophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences has accepted the position of editor of a special issue of the journal Fractal and Fractional (Journal Rank: JCR – Q1 (Mathematics, Interdisciplinary Applications) / CiteScore – Q1 (Analysis)). The second guest editor is Prof. Yohei Tutiya from the Kanagawa Institute of Technology in Japan.

The special issue, titled “Emergent Structures and Asymptotic Analysis from Local Dynamics of Discrete Models” is devoted to the study of fractal structures, scaling, and self-similarity occurring in various types of discrete models. This topic combines advanced mathematics with numerical modeling and applications in physics and to all kinds of complex systems.

The papers from the previous special issue, edited by Professor Mariusz Białecki and titled “Mathematical Modeling in Geophysics: Concepts and Practices”, published in the journal Mathematics, are available on the website: Mathematics | Special Issue : Mathematical Modeling in Geophysics: Concepts and Practices
