On June 3–4, the ALLEA General Assembly – European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities – was held at the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters in Copenhagen. Representatives from dozens of European academies of sciences attended the meeting.
The event was opened and chaired by Professor Paweł Rowiński – President of ALLEA and Director of the Institute of Geophysics, Polish Academy of Sciences. Part of the program was dedicated to delegates from the ALLEA member academies, while other parts, such as the scientific symposium “Europe and the Arctic: Science and Diplomacy” and the lecture during the Madame de Staël Prize award ceremony, were open to the public. Recordings of both events are available on ALLEA’s YouTube channel:
The ALLEA General Assembly is a recurring event, held annually in different European locations. It serves as an opportunity for representatives of various academies to meet, review ongoing activities, and set common goals to support science.
The next ALLEA General Assembly is planned to take place in Warsaw in May 2026.
