The exploration of Egypt's ancient past has long captivated archaeologists and historians. By employing various geophysical techniques, researchers have been able to non-invasively map buried structures, tombs, and artifacts, revolutionizing our understanding of ancient Egyptian civilizations. So, this webinar will introduce basic geophysical methods and highlight the significance of geophysical contributions in enhancing the efficiency and precision of archaeological exploration, ultimately enriching our knowledge of Egypt's rich cultural heritage.
Presenter: Eslam Roshdy from Egypt. He worked as Assistant Lecturer at the Geophysics Department, Faculty of science, Cairo University. He worked in many projects for archeology prospecting and near surface imaging. He is geophysicist specialized in seismic data analysis over 5 years of progressive imaging and processing experience including leadership roles of many projects for multinational oil and gas exploration companies. He is currently PhD. student in the Geophysical Imaging Department at the Institute of Geophysics, Polish Academy of Sciences.
