The conference will contribute to the evolving European policy debate on safeguarding academic freedom and strengthening the independence of research, particularly within the framework of the forthcoming ERA Act. By fostering dialogue among key stakeholders, it aims to identify concrete approaches to reinforcing Europe’s research sovereignty and enabling sustainable, mutually beneficial academic exchange — including through enhanced mechanisms for brain circulation.

Z okazji Światowego Dnia Oceanów serdecznie zapraszamy na specjalną lekcję online dla klas 7-8 szkół podstawowych i szkół średnich 8 czerwca o godz. 9.00.

Nie tylko plaże i wydmy, czyli o skalistych wybrzeżach Bałtyku

Opis: Gdzie i dlaczego akurat tam możemy zobaczyć skaliste klify morskie? Jak powstają platformy przybrzeżne? Co to są rauki? Na te i inne pytania odpowiemy w czasie lekcji online z okazji Światowego Dnia Oceanów. Wybierzemy się w podróż po wyspach Bornholm, Gotlandia, Sarema i Rugia. Zobaczymy majestatyczne klify w okolicach Tallinna i Kopenhagi. Dowiemy się jak budowa geologiczna i fale morskie wpływają na to, jak wyglądają wybrzeża skaliste. Przyjrzymy się procesom zachodzącym w obrębie klifów i poznamy metody pozwalające na pełniejsze ich zrozumienie. Prześledzimy trasę i prace terenowe naukowców z Instytutu Geofizyki PAN, a także wejdziemy do laboratorium geochemicznego, żeby zobaczyć jak i po co przygotowuje się próby skalne do datowania kosmogenicznego. Zapraszamy!

Prowadząca: dr hab. Zuzanna Świrad – geomorfolożka z Zakładu Badań Polarnych i Morskich Instytutu Geofizyki PAN. Interesuje się procesami przybrzeżnymi, brzegowymi i stokowymi. Prowadziła lub prowadzi badania w Anglii, Nepalu, Kalifornii i na Spitsbergenie.
